Wedding Cake Hype

The wedding cake was once a kind of afterthought, sliced, contained in small bags for customers to collect on their way to late afternoon. And it's not particularly tasty. Then came the booming wedding gown industry in the 90's, magazines and wedding planners, the knot and blogs, and more recently - of course - the reality shows.

And thank God for them, say the wedding designers of wedding cake, whose industry, however sugary approach, has not come through these difficult economic times completely unharmed. "Without these programs, we would not do so," said Naomi Levine, a Tipsycake chef and owner of a bakery three years old in 1043 N. California.

boom in the bridal industry, yes. But really now, reality TV? I credit bloggers girlfriend more than anyone to make me want a wedding cake that went beyond the basic vanilla sponge and silver dragees. Yes, yes, shout us! And as much as the wedding prom dresses  is now considered a centerpiece of the wedding, that's still just food. Very nice food can cost $ 3,000, but it will be eaten in the final. I tend to see the whole trend cake in the center of attention, as a way to increase sales in the pie more than anything else. After all, you can have a beautiful cake, delicious without busting your budget or what is the guest of honor at the wedding reception.

(What a beautiful wedding cake came from there Lovin Sullivan Cakes in New York)
